The right coach can make a big difference in any sport and Mixed Martial Arts is no different.  Many coaches can take an established pro and turn him into a champion.   Some can take a new comer and turn him into a pro.  The gap between these two coaching group can be hard to bridge.  Most coaches simply cannot take a fighter who has no experience an turn them into high level competitor.  Brian Mclaughlin has fighters under his tutelage who are in various stages of their careers and has helped all of them achieve important long and short term goals.

Sean Santella is one of the most highly touted flyweights that isn’t already in the UFC.  Santella consistently tops lists of prospects that the UFC and other major promotions should sign.   An amazing 13-3 record in professional MMA has seen Sean Santella become a real threat on the local scene and holds the CFFC title.  The UFC has only recently added weight classes below 155.  Many fighters were fighting at weights that were not conducive to long term success.  Santella often fought opponents who were cutting from significantly higher weights and had more weight and ultimately muscle on their side.  In spite of giving up huge size and weight advantages at 135.  Now that he is down at 125 he is an absolute beast.  At any weight Santella is a dangerous grappler who will submit anyone.  Brian, who is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black-Belt, works with Sean Santella on a regular basis.  Sean often drives up from New Jersey to Poughkeepsie for the sole purpose of training with Brian.  Time is a very valuable asset for a fighter during their camp and Santella invests it wisely in learning from the best.  Sean “Shorty Rock” Santella has transformed from solid fighter to can’t miss prospect with some help along the way from Precision MMA’s Brian Mclaughlin.

Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman is a UFC veteran with over fives fights in the octagon.  Charlie has also won several regional MMA titles and has an overall record of 19-6.  Brenneman wrestled in college before he became an MMA fighter and brings solid take downs and top control into his MMA game.  Brenneman has been fighting since 2007 and has faced a litany of high ranking fighters, including current UFC Welterweight Champion Johnny Hendricks.  Brenneman makes the almost two hour trip up to Precision MMA to prepare for the tough opponents he faces in the UFC.  Professional fighters of Brenneman’s caliber need to be sure the time the spend training is going to pay off.
